Privacy Policy
How enquiry and customer information is used.
Who is responsible
Joslin IT Services Limited, trading as Joslin IT Services, is responsible for the personal information it uses to manage enquiries and its customer relationships. Company number: 10169510. Business contact address: 42 Bramley Way, Mayland, Essex, CM3 6ER. For privacy questions, email hello@joslinitservices.com or call 07880 962284.
Information we receive
An enquiry may contain your name, email address, optional phone number, business name, town or postcode and the message you choose to send. Support work may involve contact details, device and account information, work notes, relevant correspondence and billing records. Only provide information needed for the enquiry; do not send passwords, payment-card details, medical records or confidential third-party information through the website.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use enquiry information to respond to your request and, where relevant, take steps at your request before entering a contract. We use customer and service information to perform agreed work and administer the contract. Our legitimate interests include managing ordinary business enquiries, keeping proportionate service records, protecting the website and resolving problems. We use information where needed to comply with legal obligations, including accounting requirements. We do not use a blanket consent requirement for these activities.
Website enquiries and service providers
If you choose Chat on WhatsApp, the link opens WhatsApp, a Meta service. Messages sent there are also handled under WhatsApp’s own privacy terms. You can contact us by phone or email instead. This website does not embed a WhatsApp chat or load WhatsApp tracking scripts.
Website enquiries are sent to hello@joslinitservices.com and are not published. The form does not create a separate WordPress enquiries database. IONOS provides website hosting. Email, accounting and remote-support services may also process information needed for their respective tasks. Where a service requires a supplier or another specialist, the relevant information and arrangements are discussed as part of the work. We do not sell enquiry information.
Technical information and spam protection
The hosting platform may process access and error logs, including IP addresses, request times and browser information, to operate and protect the website. The enquiry form uses a hidden spam field, a request-verification token and a short-lived rate limit. The rate limit stores a salted identifier derived from the IP address for up to one hour, rather than retaining the enquiry text in WordPress. This website build does not add advertising pixels, analytics trackers or embedded maps.
Remote support and customer instructions
A remote session is arranged with you first. Relevant screen, file and settings access is limited to the authorised work. Close private material and ask about any access request you do not understand. Where we process personal information on a business customer’s behalf, the roles, instructions, suppliers and return or deletion arrangements need to be set out in the relevant processing agreement.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. The provider, processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards depend on the service being supplied. Contact us for the arrangements relevant to your enquiry or support work before sharing information with a particular requirement.
How long information is kept
We keep information only for as long as it is needed for its purpose. We consider whether an enquiry is still active, whether a customer relationship or support arrangement continues, legal accounting requirements, any dispute or claim, and the need for proportionate work records. Different record types may therefore have different retention periods. Contact us for the retention arrangements that apply to a particular record or service.
Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal information, object to processing, or receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact hello@joslinitservices.com to raise a request. We may need enough information to verify your identity. Providing enquiry contact details is necessary if you want a response; optional fields can be left blank. Website enquiries do not involve automated eligibility decisions or profiling.
Concerns and updates
Please contact us with a privacy concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ICO complaints information or call 0303 123 1113. Last updated: 20/10/2026.
