Clear expectations from the start
IT support costs,
clearly explained.
Support works best when the work, the cost and the responsibilities are clear. Here is how a conversation becomes an agreed plan.
From enquiry to agreed work
- 1
Tell us what you need
Explain the problem, the outcome you want and where help is needed.
- 2
Review the requirements
Discuss the devices, users and systems involved. If investigation is chargeable, agree that before it starts.
- 3
Receive the scope and quote
Review the work, costs, separate purchases and any relevant limits.
- 4
Agree and arrange the work
Confirm the approach, timing and access before work goes ahead.
- 5
Check and hand over
Check the agreed result, explain the setup and discuss any continuing support.
What belongs in your quote?
These are the headings to agree. They are not an automatic list of included services.
Support and investigation
The users, devices and systems covered, plus how investigation and labour will be charged.
Equipment and licences
Hardware, parts, software, subscriptions and any recurring charges are stated separately.
Visits and project work
Agree the work location, travel, installation and any appointment arrangements.
Ongoing arrangements
Agree support channels, contact hours, responsibilities and any response targets in writing.
Joslin IT Services Limited is not VAT registered and does not charge VAT. Your quote confirms the price or charging method before work begins.
What affects the cost?
The amount of work depends on the number of people and devices, the systems in use, their condition, the level of help needed and any projects or visits. We quote for the work you actually need, so the scope and costs are clear before it starts.
One-off help
Agree the investigation or job before work starts.
Ongoing business support
Agree the supported systems and what is included.
Projects
Quote the specific change, equipment and handover.
A few useful answers
Can I move from another IT provider?
We can discuss a handover. Confirm account ownership, administrator access, licences, documentation and any existing contract obligations before changes are made.
Is there a minimum contract term?
Any term, renewal or cancellation arrangement must be stated in the written agreement. It is not assumed from this website.
How quickly will you respond?
Contact hours and any response targets need to be stated in your support agreement. A response target and a completed repair are different things.
A sensible starting point is a conversation.
Tell us whether you need help with a current problem, a project or ongoing support.
